7.3 \"hanging up\" Anyone else?

Seems like the problem where all functions hang up (spinning beach ball for 5-6 seconds and all meter levels freeze etc.) is even worse in 7.3 than it was in 7.2.

Has anyone else noticed this?

FYI - Current session 8 tracks - Using 1 L2, 1 C4 and 1 Oxford Dynamics Plug. Imported QT movie.

G5 Dual 2.0 / PT 7.3

And yes I have deleted all preferences...etc...repaired permissions.

How much RAM do you have? Until I got 2,5 GB of RAM I often saw a spinning ball. PT 7.2 is a hungry beast for RAM. PT 7.3 is a devil.

2 GB...most likely the problem. Probably moving to MacPro soon. I'll get 4 GB in that.

Yeah,I have 6 gig in my G5 and get the freezes on a regular basis. What happened to Digi looking into this? In the long thread about this problem they chimed in and said that thay would investigate. I sincerely hope that this issue is still on their radar. The screen freezes I can reluctantly live with. It's the V.I.'s, Ivory, Reason, whatever, stumbling and stuttering during the freezes that worries me. Who knows what's really going on under the hood. Who knows what we might be losing on bounces'. Not a minor problem.
