Says who? This was actually a good question. Can anyone confirm it already gives 2019.5 or are we just assuming...

I said. And yes I know — or I would not have said. But thanks for adding value here.

Re: ProTools 2019.5 Trial

Arrrggg, I signed up for the trial the day after 2019.5 shipped, and am running 2019.5 Ultimate with that, but to be clear:

In the email link Avid sends out after you register for the trial I got download links to 2018.12 (it does not call the version out in the email). Just realized that now that I tried that download link.

I got the 2018.10 everything dropped into my Avid.com account, and the 2019.5 HD driver bundles as well.. and it was the new HD driver I actually wanted to get my hands on with the trial. And now noticing it does not have 2019.5 actual Pro Tools download listed in the trial downloads. Mmm could that be because I have 2019.5 downloads under my other product entries?

And the trial-license does activate 2019.5 Ultimate, I already the software already installed. But no help if you don't have the 2019.5 download.

So something may be wrong with the download link/deposit versions being inconsistent anyhow. And I would expect them both to be bumped to 2019.5 anyhow. I'll check with jeffro.

And so yes... seriously thanks for asking :o

Looks like we need to get the email and product in accounts updated since they are providing previous installers - I logged a ticket for that. Good news is that the license authorizes the current version which is available via the Avid Download Center (linked from MyAvid).

Re: ProTools 2019.5 Trial

I heard from Jeffro that the Ultimate Trial now includes the current and previous versions, and I just checked and now see 2019.5 and 2018.12 deposited in my Avid account under that trial. So this should mean folks are set to go.

I don’t know for sure if the version linked in the email reply to the trail sign up will be 2019.5 or not, but if not just go to your Avid.com account and download it there (and if not now I expect it will be soon).

Thanks again JFreak for pushing on the question here, I’d jumped to the wrong conclusion from my experience with the trial.

Your MyAvid account should have installers back to 12.6. Anything before that, IIRC, would be in the Legacy section of Avid's website. Check the Knowledgebase.
