2021.3 Video engine and bounce to .mov crashes.
Had a lot of video engine crashes today on sessions I’ve been working on for a while so I know they ran well in the last version.
Can’t seem to bounce a mix either to .mov without it crashing just after it’s bounced the audio. Moved back to 2020.12 and all fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm having exactly the same issue - everytime I bounce any format of video the software hangs at the end of the bounce. temp audio files seem to be made in the destination folder but nothing else. really annoying as I should be bouncing cues all day long! :-(

OK - I've downloaded 2020.12.1 and installed that - problem solved so it's definitely a bug in 2021 software

Yep, I can't bounce to mov either with this version. PT hangs and I have to force quit.

I’ve had this problem and was able to get it to work by changing the bounce length. Are you bouncing to the exact length of your video?

Just saw this post and tried it here since I had not been in movie mode lately, but was starting today.. I bounced to Movie with no problem here and it's a large 96khz session. I don't usually work at 96khz when doing film work much now, but it was an older session and it worked just fine in realtime btw.

Don’t use Pad to Frame boundaries. It’s literally only necessary if you are going between Pro Tools and Media Composer or another NLE that is frame-accurate vs sample accurate. THIS caused me to crash until I figured this one out on the Movie Bouncing.. The 3rd Option: Directory should be global and sticky: Session Folder: Defaults to Bounce Files subdirectory in current working session. Prompt – on clicking Bounce will prompt for a location and is also sticky regarding the last directory tree. Directory: Global and sticky. Not session based but rather global. I would highly recommend checking out the 1-5 chicklets or Presets which are super handy for immediately switching between formats and paths on a click. Use CMD + (number) click to program a chicklet macro. Set all of the attributes first. |

Thanks--
As I'm not a film editor, I'm not using Media Composer... Also have not been using the Pad to Frame option. Are you saying the directory where the bounces go makes a difference? |
