external word clock via SPDIF on 002
I'm testing out an Ardvard Ardsync II with my 002. I've hooked it up via the 002 SPIDF connections and then used my Hardward Setup screen to set the external wordclock to RCA SPIDF. It appears to be working correctly. My question is: The SPIDF has in and out designated on the connections but the wordclock doesn't. Does this matter?
Anyone else got this setup? Any feedback would be great. thanks. |
Re: external word clock via SPDIF on 002
That's because the aardsync is just a master clock; all it does is send OUT a clock signal. In your case, you happen to be using part of the S/PDIF protocol/cable to carry to clock signal OUT of the aardsync into the 002. By part of the S/PDIF protocol I mean that no audio is being transmitted; just clock information.
Hope that's clear Damon |

No it doesn't matter, see post above. How does the 002 sound when hooked up to the Aardsync. Much difference? I clock my 001 from my PSX100. There is some improvement but not exactly "night and day".
