Its a firewire issue!!!!
I had nothing but errors like that when I ran a 002R on my editing rig.
Sold the 002R (for the money, didnt need the inputs), plugged in my MBox (which is USB) using the same computer, same PTLE install versions from 6.4 to 7.3.1, same plugins same operating system.


NO MORE ERRORS!!!!
PTLE runs like a top more tracks more plugins.

Its either a firewire issue with Digidesign or just a plain old firewire bottleneck.

My client has a been having quite a few buffer errors, including error 6090 ( a new one to me), with his Digi 002 Rack. I have a hard time with the concept of him going back to an Mbox, but whatever fixes the problem... He is only recording one track, soo...
Maybe the firewire bus on the G5 is the culprit and a new firewire card will fix it?
Anyone ever tried this fix?

I just added a firewire card in my client's G5 and the DIGI 002 rack now works flawlessly (so far).

Maybe deterioration of Firewire buses causing problems?
