if you're using a headphone amp, i believe you need to use outputs from the back of your 002 to drive that amp (don't use the headphone output). i can't remember how mine is set up right now (i use one of those "b-word" ones ) but i can tell you i found the connection info in my getting started guide (the thin one) that came with my 002 (which is not the 002r but i believe the i/o is exactly the same). i have one pair of outs driving my monitors, then another pair of outs driving my headphone amp.

good luck!
steve

I have an 002 and Behringer 4600, I run my monitors off the 002 monitor out, so they're controlled by the monitor level and mute switch. The headphone amp is driven by the main 1-2 output. This setup works perfectly, since the Behringer has its own master volume control, in addition to individual levels for each output.

thanks.. but do I have to make a stereo aux channel to route the signal to the headphone amp?
or will the master fader do?

Re: Headphone amp distortion!

The way I described (using main 1-2), you don't do anything special, since 1-2 is the normal output, same as the monitor output.

Re: Headphone amp distortion!

Create aud send set to prefader. You can create up to 6 mono, 3 stereo, of any combination thereof of discrete hp mixes. Use analog outs 3-8 for the sends to the hp amp. DO NOT USE THE HP OUT TO FEED THE HEADPHONE AMP!!!!!!

Aux inputs are jsut that, inputs and have nothing to do with hp monitoring. You use them to return outboard hardware units, synths, drum modiules, etc into the PT mixer.

I highly suggest you download and read the free pdf manual provided by Digi. It covers headphone setups and a whole lot more.

I expect so, since it's the obvious correct way to do it.

Only if you want the same mix in the control room and the headphones. If you ahve a multichannel HP amp, giving the musicians independant mixes can be very helpful to them.

I hate to say it but I run the HP out from my 002 into a Behringer 4700 and it sounds fine as long as its below 12 o'clock. Then I use aux outs to add "more me" to any of the 4 sections.
