Re: Mac Mixes!!!!!!!!

Yooooooooo there everyone, I've been part of this Leadership group in Las Vegas for a few months and for part of it we decided to get together a tribute song for the CA fires. Me and 3 other people in the group got together and made this song happen. I recorded all the actual instruments and my buddy Jerime does the rap/spoken word, I sing, and this 51 year old lady in my group Nancy does some singing. This song's probably going to be played at a San Diego Chargers play-off game (no [bleep]) and a Phoenix Suns Basketball game (the team's owner is in my group, [bleep]' random!!!), so obviously I'm ridiculously excited. Besides that I'm just happy about how it turned out so give 'er a listen!

Thanks guys

Bret

p.s. I'll get the lyrics up here in a bit, they're obviously an important part of the song.

I loved this song the first time i heard it! Congrats on a beautiful song! The arrangement, mix and production are stellar! If i would change anything i would get an echo type vibe in the very beginning that ramps up to where the drums kick in, and then continue that vibe by manipulating the vocal space in the spoken word part i.e...levels, hi-lighting certain words. Great song! Tim

Love to know what you all think of this new recording we did last night:

Are the vocals too loud?

I recently did my first mix session in ProTools. I thought it was pretty fun. Only complaint I had about mixing in ProTools is that I don't like the delay plugs. Any ways you can hear the songs on my myspace. Only 2 of the 4 songs on my forthcoming ep were mixed in ProTools, the others, cubase. You can hear them on my myspace page

Can you guess which was done in protools? If you don't want to, it was Berliner and Robot.

Here's mine...you can hear Christina (a local America's Got Talent entry) who I've worked with in 2007, and will be producing her country/blues album this year, on my website at http://www.rlowery.org/MP3/Georgia.mp3 and http://www.rlowery.org/MP3/You%20Ain...n%20Enough.mp3

I'd appreciate comments or otherwise...anyone still monitoring this thread?

Thanks,

bodie

Alrighty then... here's my contribution:
a clip from the latest band I've recorded called "Motorists", it's only a partial song (from a 9-minute song!) but it's an interesting build-up to the end. Critiques welcome... www.myspace.com/lundquistaudio

Loved the political song! You've got some nice overall mixes, I really like the lows.
