3 questions about AVID HDX-1 TB3 chassis
Hi all - 3 questions about AVID HDX-1 TB3 chassis
AKA: Pro Tools | HDX Thunderbolt 3 Chassis - 1 slot sold by avid $499 Been web searching - looking for a user manual, reviews, anything..... slim info out there  one) so anyone using it and any thoughts? Does it "just work" ? two) is there a fan in it? If yes, how loud is it? Yes I know there is a fan on the actual HDX card, three) is it possible to use TWO of them at once ... on one (qualified) MacBookPro, thus making the laptop an HDX-2? here is a link to it for those not familiar with it: https://www.avid.com/products/pro-to...bolt-3-chassis thanks:-) |

p.s. on closer inspection of the AVID web page - it sure does look like 2 small fans lower right on this photo
anyone know how quiet they are? thanks |

Can't use 2 at same time. Hdx cards connect using a ribbon cable. There is a 3 slot tb3 box you can use I think for up to hdx3.

Re: 3 questions about AVID HDX-1 TB3 chassis
I have the single unit chassis and it works fine so far. I have had it about a year. Fan noise is negligible, but there is a pulse on start up and shut down. Its a powerful small space unit. I also have my Mac mini in the chassis as well.
