How good is PT 12.8.3?
Hey guys,
I allowed my plan to lapse in September because I wasn't happy with the upgrades. I can say in all truthfulness that I got only three usable versions: 12.4, 12.6.1 and 12.8/8.1. I guess that's four, but even these four have their issues. One step forward, two steps back. Avid's performance for me has been less than stellar. Maybe it's still early days, but how do you find 12.8.3? I'm just waiting for a rock-solid version so I can renew my plan. I don't mind paying the penalty if the goods are delivered...and I realize I'll get answers from both extremes of the gamut... |

How good is PT 12.8.3?
Well if you look at the release note, didn’t most of the fixes come in for Mac OS?
That’s what I heard anyway I am with you, 12.8.1 was my last version but I am still running 12.5.1. I have yet to even install anything else |
Re: How good is PT 12.8.3?
I've found both 12.8.2 and 12.8.3 to be very stable with rock-solid video sync in W10—except for one huge access violation bug they haven't fixed. It's doesn't cause hard crashes or loss of work so it's more an annoyance that requires re-starting PT, but it's definitely annoying and must be dealt with in the next update or there will be hell to pay. I'm not sure what that means, but it feels good to say it.
