Hi,
I'd love to get some feedback on the following:
http://www.mp3.com/Bey12
It was done with Pro Tools, Stratocaster, friends in a psuedo choir and a Yamaha Motif Keyboard.
Also, I am looking for interested musicians who live in Los Angeles and would like to collaborate.

I just posted the final mix of "Scream Yourself To Sleep" by Second Skin on our site. It's 7 minutes long and 6.5 megs, but we'd love some feedback on the mix if you have the bandwidth to spare.

Thanx.

Ok...

Been a while since I posted...

Here is a new track I am working on.

Called "Beautiful Sky"

http://artists.hubba.com/kamurah/?do...a.com/kamurah/

It's housey electronica.....but C'est la vie.

Composed in Reason. Of note, I used the wonderful Orange Vocoder plug in from Prosoniq.

Thanks for taking a listen.
Any feedback is welcome.

BTW. The track is unfinished. I am going to add some more vocals to flesh the tune out.

Cheers

is there any other free service (other than mp3.com) that will let you post tunes better than 128kbps??

thanks for any thoughts on the tune/recording.

Hey!

We have a new tune out, all digi 001, complex production, more than 40 tracks in this song. I would like to know what people think of the vocals as we did some heavy plug-in madness on them. Any other comments/advice are of course welcome. All little long, but not intended for real commercial marketing....

Some good music has been posted lately, and I finally got a chance to listen tonight...

Kamurah- Man, 'Beautiful Sky' is exceptionally well done. It really got under my skin by the time it was halfway over. The Orange Vocoder, eh? That thing is really nice... a great creative tool in the right hands (like yours). Very impressive.

Joz- These songs are as tight as they can be, and well written. (DUC guys, check em out). They're also recorded and mixed well, and I like the female vocalist (which member are you?).
Are you guys with a label? I hope you're being pushed. Good stuff.

ReniuR- Man, Second Skin reminds me just a little of Bowie, which I would hope is good. Very unique and recorded well (by you, right?) Good job, man!

Dr. John- Very interesting song. Whoever's singing (you?) reminds me a little of Peter Cetera at times (but I like your singer better). The guitar sounds are cool too. Nice production.

Nori- I couldn't get your file to play on my stuff... if you could convert to MP3, it might help. I do want to hear it, and thanks...

Jon Sutton- As I said above, I was really impressed with your stuff. Your songs have a unique energy, absolutely... can't wait to hear what's next. You guys chug along!

Anyway, thanks to each one of you...

Roy,
Thanks so much for the kind words.

'Beautiful Sky' happens to be one of the favorites I have worked on recently....so I am especially glad that you liked it.

Orange Vocoder is a wonderful plug. I just wish it would accept MIDI control so you could "play" it like an instrument!

Thanks again for listening.

Hi Roy,
Don't you have a Real Audio Player?
If you don't, go to http://www.real.com/
You can download it for free.

Hi Nori,

Yes, my threads are always intelligent, stimulating, and very deep. I myself am up for the 'most congenial' award here on the PC side.

No, actually I didn't have Real Player, because I JUST got a new PC built, and am just adding stuff kindof slowly, so bear with me. I'll download it and listen to your stuff. I really do appreciate you posting it too.

Well Nori, I downloaded RealPlayer just to hear your song, but I remember now why I didn't rush to get it back. RealPlayer has never sounded as good as some of the others to me. It is sometimes very distorted.
Anyway, I listened. So, is that you playing all the instruments?

Thanks, Roy

Yep. sorry if you threw up!

Yes, Real Audio format doesn't sound good, but It's useful. it's far smaller than MP3 format.
I sometimes attach my pieces which are Real
Audio format to email.

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

Well Roy

Honestly nothing is copywriten And some stuff was stolen and I hear bits and pieces in places on tv which kind of Bothers me Any way it was a tape that had some Ideas on it. none of the real songs though Thank the Lord kindof Gunshy need the copywrites on this stuff but i thought colaberation on the sleepy moon thing could work because as you played it it stuck in my head like I kind of knew where you were Going. never really has hapened with anyone else before so I thought I would Risk a few words and see what you thought. been a guitarist for a long time played in highschool in a band but really havent done much since except with my own stuff on cassette and one was stolen out of my guitar case between here and L. A. Dad had the case with him I cant understand what happened. Anyway i am more of a lead guitarist and cant play slide much except the old led zepplin song with the open a tuning. But like i said iI heard the song you were working on and you see the lyrics i wrote for it. I think it would take alot of work but has potential. But so do the 20-30 ones I have writen Any way have you got anything copywriten? I was thinking 50/50 share in that sleepy moon song part of me is in those lyrics. I was doing cassette to cassette sound on sound before so nothing i have is more than lead on rythym. I have been working on the studio Quite vigorously lately. but i only have 1 24 track song all guitar and mostly a test this computer i am on did not warant putting it all on the line. The one I am building will. Just getting ready Dont want the music to Die with me.
And I am determined. The studio progresses Slowly now. once the computer is built i can go back to wiring patchbays I was thinking that the only way to get on the Golden Duckets Album was Colaberation At this time. Since my music is not ready. NJeither copy writen or vocals recorded. the studio is only down to 20 db with peaks to 40 so it wont do yet for vocals.
recent work indicates that it might be lower now but i dont want any outside noise in the recordings. Any way I have never offered to share in anything like this before and its likely premature be that as it may we could try to work out the details and try for a spot on the Duc album. One thing i do have has a phase shift from right to left and left to right simultaneously which sounds cool but that is A work in progress and it is likely that I wouldnt share it with anyone.

but this sleepy moon my lyrics posibly a littlt lead guitar your solid bacground accompanyment who knows perhaps a little slide on your part I just wonder what it could be.

STUDIO-DE-ARIEL,

Hi there... listen, I would like to collaborate, and hopefully soon, but I wasn't planning on adding a vocal to 'Sleepy Moon'. If I were to write something for your lyric (which I really like), I would probably do something very different. I had decided to leave 'Sleepy' as it is, warts and all. So, if it's OK with you, let me think about it. I'm working on some other things that may suit your lyric better. Is that cool with you?

Thanks, Roy

As long as its not too heavy and if it fits. It Could work You good at matching lyrics to songs Have you got your own lyrics?

Hey i saw a guitar on your site with the Gibson on it is it a paul? If not what is it?
From what i could see it was fancy. Anyway your link allows access to a few pics that are there
If you want them seen Good if not. They are still available. Just so that you know.

I tried to access your site at dads business a long time ago when you were talking to someone about using some of your music. but there was no rating on the site (parental type controls and It was inaccessible from there) I hope soon to have ADSL Again or cable.
So I can hear some of the Golden Duckets here

I Bought a Les Paul elegant custom shop last year that is prety as well. And a flying v with a 500t i think You ought to hear it scream. Serious tone. the 500T is rarely heard.
Because its a rare pickup.

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

StudioDeAriel,

The guitar I'm holding in that photo is a '57 Les Paul Deluxe, which was custom built. When I first saw it in a Memphis music store, my band had just signed with RCA Records, and we were there to buy equipment with RCA money. I said to our manager, "You mean THAT guitar can be MINE?". And he said, "Roy, as of now, it IS yours..." That was a very good day for me.
And it was a great guitar, but I sold it, and built THE guitar, which is the main one I use now(THE guitar looks almost identical to the '57). I also am in the market for a vintage Strat, though, and I envy any of you guys with a really nice Strat, vintage or not...

Oh, and it's OK to check out the photos on my site. They're just of my family and where I write.
