Drag from Workspace Crashes
hi folks -
having a bit of an isolated problem with copying files into a session from the workspace. certain files, specifically, all files associated with a particular project, are crashing protools when i try to drag them into the edit window from the workspace. i can drag files from other projects / locations into the edit window, no sweat, and when i moved the suspect files to my powerbook's internal drive and started a new session from there, no sweat. I can drag other files residing on the same disk into the session, but without fail, these particular files seem to pose a problem. i've tried the usual array of trashing databases and repairing permissions, to no avail. It seems to be pretty isolated to files associated with this session. this is a brand new 80 Gig OWC Mercury Firewire drive, which i have never used before, but have heard good things about. Re: Drag from Workspace Crashes
In addition to repairing permissions using the Disk Utility application, you should also examine the "Get info" windows for the files causing problems and examine the "Ownership and Permissions" settings for the files in question. The ownership might be messed up, or "Read and Write" might not be enabled.
