delta 1010

Anyone tried the delta1010 interface out?
Do I dare ask: comparing it to 001?
Cause I can't really see why paying for mic-preamps and headphone amp/ cheers J

Re: delta 1010

Digi 001 should not be looked at as just a sound card... its is a complete hardware and software solution.... which is more cost effective that going the VST/delta or Logic/Delta route.

The Digi 001 system is just that a system where the hardware and software complement each other.

Not to lash back at you, but what kind of stupid reply is that?

So anyway, back to your otherwise good question and the even better reply that followed (which was as straight forward and honest as can be about the Digi001, really); should you want an alternative to the 001 kit, I say go with the Delta 1010, or 66 or the basic 2496, and pair it with Logic or Sonar XL (unless you're a midi nut, go with the latter).
You can always buy a good preamp, like a DBX or Focusrite later down the road as an added front-end.
Any Midiman card is bound to give you great value for the money, no to mention outstanding audio quality and ASIO drivers.

But all things considered, I'd still opt for a Digi001 despite all the tar we spill about it. I sense that a little more patience on our part (though it's wearing thin right about now) will go a long way in the not too distant future.

Good luck

Re: delta 1010

I have both. In our studios in Phoenix, We use the Digi001 for PTLE only, although I do have an AP 2496 in that same machine for using soft synths. In another Machine we have the 1010. Damn fine card. Selectable -10, +4 bal/unbal on every 1/4" is a BIG plus. Sound quality is exellent. Converters are very good, Solid drivers. We use everything on that machine/card no probs.
I personally, however, can't stand that ******ned software applet M-Audio runs, but that's just me.

Thanks for the review. I've been curious about their converters. <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:<HR>Originally posted by Morningstar:
