you should unmount the drive in Pro Tools.... in the workspace window

I agree, it's very annoyoing (and time consuming). I have even unmount my 128MB USB pen drive from Pro Tools' workspace. There should be a way to tell Pro Tools that "this-drive-is-not-for-you! Hands off!"
