DDS Retrospect Restore When Backup Was Done Elsewhere?
I know I could figure this out if I messed around with Retrospect but I'm fairly new to the software and am hoping for an answer for a session Thursday the 11th. Someone's bringing in a DDS tape to our studio and we don't have the "catalog" for it. Thanks for the help.

Yup, it'll end up taking twice as long that way. After it's done giving you a contents - it'll then take that long to restore it...
See if you can get it emailed to you - save hours!! |

Actually I think it'll take more than twice as long... that's if you want to restore the entire dataset... which could be much larger then what you need to actually recover.
Tell them to bring the storageset - or recreate it before they come over. Rail |
