PT 8 always crashes when editing audio
 

Anyone with same problems?

Try to edit an audiotrack, choose position, then type in 'command + E' causes PT to stop.
The ball of boredom appears and then PT is gone.
And this happens everytime.

Yes, I read the other threads about PT8 crashing, I checked plugs versions, everything seems to be good. I started the mix in 7.4, and saved it in format 8.

Any ideas?

Are you really sure your plugins are up to date and all compatible! really really sure:-)

what mac?
what OS? how did you get to this OS version? combo updater? or incremental updates?
ram? how much? is the ram ok?
Hard drive ok?
plenty of free space?

Hi !

I've just had a nightmare session today where PT8 crashed everytime I hitted B (Apple + E).
I had to manually copy some parts over the others to get it going...
Very frustrating when clients are in the room.....:mad::mad:

Also, i had some "regions too short/truncated" dialogs when opening the ame sessions or PT 7.4.2 ones !!!

My system is up to date and this happened even after trashing the usual suspects (prefs,...)

I had the same problem. I was bug free for almost 2 months, and then I opened an LE 7.4 session. I would start to zoom in and begin edits and crashed every 30 seconds. Eventually I uninstalled and reinstalled. Problem solved. I have crashed once since but nothing like those 2 days of hell.

In the preferences setup, under the editing tab, make sure "Separate Region Operates on ALL Related takes" is NOT checked.
This solved the problem for me.

Yes, I still need to uncheck 'Separate Region Operates on ALL Related takes' in 8.0cs2
