digi 002 and roland vs1680

can anyone tell me the easiest way to get 16 tracks from my roland 1680 into my protools rig (digi 002 rack, pt 7.0). the roland only outputs 8 at a time, so i guess i could do that and line the tracks up after. or, if someone has done it, and can walk me through the midi set-up (i.e. controlling playback of the 1680 with protools) it would be greatly appreciated, as the roland manual has been no help at all. thanks

Re: digi 002 and roland vs1680

I'm a newbie and I have a very similar question and would much appreciate some sweet DUC love on this one.

I've just entered the world of computer-based digital recording. I started with a little Tascam 4-track, then I got a Roland 880. My last recording rig was the Roland 1680, which was a comfortable transition from the 880 and handled everything I needed to do quite well.

Now I have pt m-powered set up with a Project Mix I/O and am wondering the same thing as jonahx3...how can I transfer all of my songs, with the least pain, from my vs-1680?

Help!

Thanks,

Steve

...and now I realize I'm an idiot, and posted this in the MAC side of things. I'm on XP. I'd still appreciate anyone's knowledge in this area. Perhaps I'll rephrase this in the xp side of the world...
