Annual Upgrade Plan Activation problem.
 
Hi there,
I opened a support ticket a few days ago but have not heard back at all as yet. I understand it's a busy time of year, but I really need to get this sorted, hence this post.
I cannot seem to find a way to give Avid my activation code for my annual upgrade plan renewal.
1) I purchased an annual upgrade plan card from an authorised third party reseller.
2) I go to here: https://my.avid.com/products/redemption and input the authorisation code as requested.
3) I click on activate product.
4) A green box appears at the top of the screen: 'Please enter the Renewal Code listed here in the “Renew Support” Option of your Perpetual Product located in the Products and Subscriptions page.'
5) I go to the products and subscriptions page and cannot find a renew support option anywhere. I've gone through all the drop down products. and tried clicking on everything on the page to see if it's hidden anywhere.
6) I come here and respectfully ask the community for some help.

Go to your "My Products and Subscriptions"
Click on the product you want to renew the subscription so you can see system ID etc.
See where it says "Plan Expires..." and "renew support" in blue
Click on "renew support"
and then you'll see a space to put your code.

I've attached a screen grab of my version of the window - you'll see there's no renew support option at all on my screen.

What did you pay for the plan? As itseem you were a year late and some months you should have paid approx $299 if it was lapsed so are you 100% sure you did buy the correct reinstallment plan?

It was $AUD149.
I did my due diligence and asked the same question of two authorised resellers.
They both told me that this was the correct product to purchase.
Bearing in mind that I still use PT all the time, it was a perpetual product I purchased initially so even though the upgrade and support component had lapsed the version was still functioning.

Yes but reinstatement of lapsed plan after 30 day grace period is $299 which is somehwere around $400 AUD so you bought the wrong thing.

This $299 plan is for perpetual licenses that has expired. Otherwise it would have been 600-700 dollars to buy the perpetual license outright.

Due diligence would have told you this:

The plan you bought is for users on ACTIVE plans which has NOT lapsed. What is the last PT version in your Avid account so we know if your plans actually have lapsed? One says active and one says expired but both text show expired ?!

All purchased PT12 versions will be perpetual after they lapses unless it is a monthly subscription so yes, you can use the PT12 version that was out when your plan lapsed for ever but you still need to buy the correct update if you want to take advantageofthe annual plan and releases during said year. Next time if you renew on time ot will be 149-ish AUD for another year.

So I was advised to purchase the wrong product.
Obviously speaking with two qualified PT guys at separate authorised reseller stores, emailing a third party and receiving the same response does not qualify as due diligence.
I shall abrogate responsibility where possible and recoup. My best regards to you and warmest thanks for your direct response and lack of hubris.
