Antelope Devices Thunderbolt Interface

Just a heads up for anyone interested in the Antelope Devices that make use of the Thunderbolt interface. I just purchased the Antelope Goliath and was shocked to discover that Thunderbolt is NOT supported on a PC/Win machine. There was absolutely nothing in the manual or on the Antelope web site to indicate that thunderbolt was only supported with Mac/OSX. I have not seen this in any review of the Goliath product.

In the Antelope FAQ I was able to find a comment for the Zen Tour, Orion Studio, Orion 32+, Zen Studio, and Orion 32. (But not for Goliath)

WILL THERE BE THUNDERBOLT SUPPORT FOR WINDOWS?

There are no plans to implement ThunderBolt support for Windows at this time. However, if there are recurrent questions about it and requests for it to be implemented, we will forward it as a suggestion to our development teams.

Using USB limits the Goliath to half of the I/O channels that are available using Thunderbolt.

Hey Don,
I know someone else with this interface that thought the same thing, but they ended up keeping it anyway. Motu, Focusrite, 1 specific Rme TB Windows capable interface, are the other nice converters that would work. Take it the Lynx is still problematic?

Having owned a Orion 32 I can tell you Antelope will most likely never develop a TB driver for windows, there support was so bad I sold my Orion
The issue between Lynx and Avid has a thread dedicated to the problem between ASIO and Avid
I did not update my support plan with AVID seeing that my Aurora won't work with PT 12.5 and onward on Windows

Hi Steve, I gave up on the Avid/Lynx problem. I doubt it will ever be addressed unless it gets fixed as a byproduct of Avid finally getting their ASIO interface issues and CPU spike issues resolved. I don't think they are even looking at this one.
