OT. Best bass to midi system ?
I'm hoping that someone can give me some feedback how good the tracking/latency is on the various bass to midi systems. I'm aware of that Roland and Axon have solutions. Are there any others? Do they work ?
I'm wanting to use one live to trigger synth bass patches, so it would need to track well, and be pretty reliable. Any comments - good or bad are appreciated. Thanks |

Re: OT. Best bass to midi system ?
The only one I've heard about that's up for the task without an insane amount of latency is the Terratec system. It was designed for guitar but should work on bass as well. I have never tried it myself but it has gotten some really good reviews.

Thanks stiff -thats the Axon one I've heard of. Might see if I can try one out. I've heard that bass is harder to track than guitar though, so I'm a bit sceptical...

Re: OT. Best bass to midi system ?
I've also heard about a cheaper Terratec Axon system with a little less features. I'm not sure it has been released yet (last I heard there were problem with components).

Re: OT. Best bass to midi system ?
Thnks again Stiff - I've made enquiries about it, it's basically the Axon 100Mk11 without the sounds. You're right about the components - Yamaha were supplying them the pickups, but have stopped, so they are making or sourcing others.

Ah, yeah, that sounds like what I heard. If you go for one of those systems let us know if it works well. I've been thinking about getting one myself but never gotten around to do it.
