MIDI Pitch bend question, please?

Guys , sorry for the dumb question but i can't seem to find the answer anywhere.
Where do i change the pitch bend range in a midi track from a whole tone to
a , whatever other interval?
And speaking of pitch bend:
Is it posible to achieve good results pitch bending brass samples (Kick Ass Brass),
to get some , say, "real" slides the library doesn't have?
I'm having a hard time getting the sound i want, most of the time have to print to audio
and manipulate the waveform to get what i want, but the slides are really something
i can't figure out without doing it in midi.
So will the pitch bend help me in this case ?

Thanx a lot for your time
Hopefully someone will help me, still newbie in PT's Midi...

Re: MIDI Pitch bend question, please?

Pitch bend range is set on the Midi instrument, or Virtual Midi instrument if you are using software. Pitch bend will just send midi control data from 0-127 with no pitch being at 64.

Have a look at the software instrument or sampler interface - there will be a pitch bend range

Re: MIDI Pitch bend question, please?

How do you translate Pro Tool's pitch bend measurement? For example, how would a draw a bend for exactly one semitone?

Or do those measurement changed depending on the pitch bend range of the MIDI instrument? If so, does the measurement relate in any way so that I can draw percise bends?

Re: MIDI Pitch bend question, please?

set the maximum range on your midi instrument.
drawing the line in protools will bend the note to the maximum at the highest and lowest levels. any other pitch would have to be mathematically figured out or more simply, trial and error.
