Monitor Outputs 003 Rack - Line Level?

This should be a simple one for someone out there.

I want to plug the Monitor O/P's of my 003 Rack into the line level I/P of my desktop speakers. That way I can use a splitter to mix my internal sound card O/P, with my 003 O/P, and share speakers.
Are the monitor outputs hotter than line level? I just don't want to get burned and destroy my speakers.

I could just use the HP O/P on the front but they don't have a detent and I feel my gain stage is garbled enough already if I do this.

Re: Monitor Outputs 003 Rack - Line Level?

I'm not clear on part of this. The 003 outputs are at line level, but what are the speakers? If you are talking about computer speakers(with the typical mini-plug input), those would not be a good choice here. If you want to feed the computer audio out(say for all non-Pro Tools sounds) then you could feed the 003 AND the computer output to a small mixer to combine them into a single set of studio monitors. Or use a monitor/source selector like the Samson C-Control, Mackie Big Knob or Presonus Central Station.
