does midi w/ mbox works fine?
 

I'm planning to use midi with my mbox. I will probably buy an oxygen 8, and I wanted to know:
-Does it work fine using the usb as a midi port (the O8 is supposed to support this), or is it necessary to buy a midi interface to use it with PT+mbox ?
-Can I use the knobs with automation of plug-ins like I could do with a control surface?

And also I'm looking for a virtual synth, which can support home-made sounds in wav, in 24 bits/ 48 kHz; I've seen sampletank couldn't even do that. do you have any Idee, not including an external expander?
