Bought 2 of these Stream decks and they are Grrrreat!

https://www.elgato.com/en/gaming/stream-deck

Can't say enough good things about these little cool devices. Think Slate Batch commander but hardware and way less aweful paste colors hahaha BC looks horrid and very offputting. We sold our Slate Ravens and couldn't be happier with them gone even though we only got 750 bucks for both in MINT!

Anyhew these gadgets are 15 buttons but over 200 presets for programming anything you want so for those who find they are missing programable buttons on their controllers and consoles the Stream Deck is the thing for you

Took a few minutes to set up and away we went!

Just wanted to share this for anyone who have a few bucks left over and want to get something that speeds up workflow and works 100% as advertized :-)

Would think they are around 120-150 USD as we paid around 380 USD but we have higher taxes here in sweden but well worth it and ...

You only need one to start off with or get the 32 button version if you want all buttons on one side. We put one on each side of our new Acer 49" Curved monitor with the SSL 4056 G+ console and have the same functions on both units for ease of use and dont need to move to use one of them.

Hope everyone stay healthy and C-Free and that this will turn for the better sooner than later :o

What do you program the buttons to do? I have one, like it, but have not thought how to use it for audio

We use them for programming shortcuts instead of using the Icon controllers all the time And it is amazing. Like a Slate Batch Commander but hardware and each unit can have 200+ shortcuts which is great as we use Live10Suite and PTU and now when LUNA doesn’t have Eucon or HUI or Mackie functions those gadgets gets a lot of use :-)

You must check out the Companion app as well. Third party freeware for Stream deck.
https://bitfocus.io/companion/
Control video and audio equipment, send OSC and MIDI commands, make keyboard shortcuts and more not just to your local computer, to other computers in your LAN as well.

Yes Good Catch! We use it aswell and works a treat with these little gadgets.

Thanks Johan for the tip as I totally forgot to mention that great software.

Hey there!
Considering jumping on board.

Ive seen the videos, and most of the content is based around post tasks.

Could you share some scripts/ tasks that music only guys like myself would find useful?

thanks!
Sean

I just bought two of them for our studios..

But it seems there are big issues with PT under windows and keyboard shortcuts that come from software

Every other piece of software works like a charm with streamdeck... why AVID why?

Any idea if you are able to program buttons to show Pro Tools automation lanes/windows to open in Edit window? (rather than using mouse to open the pedal sustain lane/window for example)

Just curious what these offer compared to customized softkeys with Avid Control/Dock.

As many pages of buttons as you want with physical buttons. In addition, it can operate with other non-eucon apps and the operating system. There's muscle memory learned with using it too (since they are physical buttons)

I don't look at it as "one or the other" but "both". Stream Deck + Eucon/Dock.
I have SoundMiner and Izotope RX Advanced programmed to the StreamDeck in addition to pulling up Eucontrol, DADman, and notes (if only to pull them into focus so I can use the Dock softkeys.) Still no app switching in Eucontrol/Dock after all.

Are you still loving using the Streamdeck? How well does it work with the DADman stuff? Im thinking about getting one of the new Stream Deck + units with the knobs to fill in for a lonnnnnng back ordered DADMOM controller.

Still loving the StreamDeck.
I have a StreamDeck + on order to see how it works (won't arrive until first week of Dec.)

DADman integration is great on the StreamDeck thanks to a user here on the DUC (I'll let him volunteer to make himself known if he wishes.) But I don't believe his DADman plugin for StreamDeck is on the public StreamDeck store. But it does everything the DAD MOM controller does (because it emulates it) but better (because you get visual feedback and can name things -- things you can't do on the MOM)

Awesome. Thanks for the reply. Good to know.
I ordered the + and once it arrives will dig deeper into the setup.
I agree with the visual feedback component being a major plus... also price... also availability! :D

Re: Bought 2 of these Stream decks and they are Grrrreat!

I'm in! Adding Soundflow + Deck to my S3 and Dock. Just wondering about which deck might be best...

the XL has the most buttons, 32, but wondering if it's too many and gets harder to quickly find the right one on the fly compared to the 15 buttons on the smaller decks. OR two of the 15 button decks?

Also are the decks with knobs useful and do the knobs play nicely with Soundflow / Pro Tools (already have all those knobs on the S3 and Dock so maybe redundant)?

I just got the 15 button Stream Deck and it really improves my workflow. Does anyone know of either available icons or profiles specifically for Pro Tools to download?
