Studio Setup Ideas

Recently I got a digi 002 rack. I am very new at this and can use help with the following.

I want to set up a nice home/project studio

Right now all I have are both a pc and a mac and the digi 002 rack

What are some key components I should get or consider to get my studio set up?

Hardware suggestions: mixers, monitors, mics, etc.
Software suggestions: plug-ins, anything else.

I am interested in setting something up that has some quality and that will last.
I play in a 4 person band and we will be recording a lot, in addition to our regular playing out.

Any suggestions to help me get going would be greatly appreciated.

With a suggestion...please a little explanation as to why. Remember I am new at the recording/digi 002 rack thing.

Thanks.

a couple of good mics and a good Mic Pre.
MPX 1 Lexicon Effects processor.
A good pair of powered monitors ( genelec, mackie, alesis )
