Sample Cell Software Install
When installing SampleCell software, I get the following error message during setup:
"Is20inst caused a general protection fault in the GDI.EXE module at 0010:000000ad": what on earth does this mean and how can I correct it in order to install the card?? |
Re: Sample Cell Software Install
Odds are that you have a memory resource conflict. On the Sample Cell card there is a rotary switch. This switch is mainly used if you have more then one SC II card in the system. The Switch goes from ID 0 to 6. Each ID sets the sample Cell card to a specific set of Memory ranges. I don't remember what the ranges are for each ID, but they are listed in manual.
The GDI.exe could also be a sign of a conflict with the video driver on your system, or it is conflicting with the memory ranges of the video card. You could try going to a standard vga video driver and then try to install the software again. Your best bet is trying a different ID. -bm- |
Re: Sample Cell Software Install
Yes, I've tried all this, with no effect.
In fact, it's all about knowing exactly what the error message means in order to correct it. |

Go ahead and call in for support, our number is (650) 842-6699. I'm not sure what is going on and the tech who knows this best answers the PC phone cue. -bm- |
Re: Sample Cell Software Install
Well, I can't get through at the number you gave me (I'm calling from France) so I wonder if you could process my original inquiry made with a TSR a week ago or so and pass it over to the Tech who knows about these things.
