RIP Charlie Watts
Was going to take my Jeep to the inspection station and turned on the radio. One of those stations at the left end of the dial (remember those?). They were playing a bunch of Rolling Stones stuff and then the announcer came on and said that Charlie Watts had passed away at age 80. I knew he was not going to do the Stone's US tour because he was recovering from some undisclosed medical procedure.

Re: RIP Charlie Watts
Charlie Watts – goodbye to the man who got us all up on the dance floor, like only a brilliant drummer can … from 1965 at Sydney Showgrounds (Stones & Roy Orbison) … thank goodness we can still listen to your magic.
Thank you, Charlie! |
Re: RIP Charlie Watts
I heard the news a few hours ago. Very sad. I saw the Stones 3 times. '78 New Orleans Superdome, '81 Dallas Texas Cotton Bowl, and Houston Astrodome - Steel Wheels tour.

Rolling Stones share video tribute to Charlie Watts
https://www.theguardian.com/music/20...-charlie-watts A good friend noted – there are only 4 originals left: Mick, Keith, Ringo and Paul Love to hear a one-off studio project: Mick, Keith, Ronny, Ringo and Paul (“The Famous Five”) The performing, recording and song-writing possibilities .... Finale: Mick, Keith, Ronny, Ringo and Paul – special guest: Jeff Lynne The Stones will keep on rolling: "the Rolling Stones will embark on their 13-date No Filter US tour next month" Other projects could be good for the soul, as well as a fitting tribute: “Charlie Time” |
