SC48 Hardware Inserts

Is it possible to use external hardware inserts with the SC48? If so, how many at one time?

It appears from the SC48 standalone software that it does not support external hardware inserts, unlike its larger siblings. You could probably fake it by taking a direct out from the channel into your outboard, and then back into a different channel, but I'm guessing the automatic delay compensation wouldn't work for that situation.

Good news here: the IO16 option card released last year enables enables hardware inserts for SC48.
