LE 7.4cs2 on 10.5.1 on a Quad-Core Mac Pro
Well, the subject line kinda says it all. I got tired of waiting and installed Leopard 10.5 and updated to 10.5.1 today. It was not a clean install, I had been using LE 7.4cs2 with 10.4.11. I don't know of any mention of the Quad-Core Mac Pro's, Pro Tools LE 7.4cs2, & 10.5.1 yet so I thought I'd put mine out there. So far so good though, no problems what so ever. I had tried this before & had to go back to 10.4.11 because Pro Tools LE wouldn't launch. I don't know if it was 10.5.1 or the cs2 update but things are fine.
As stated in SO many post before mine, 10.5 is NOT supported by Digi yet, so wait! |

"10.5 is NOT supported by Digi yet, so wait"! I know Leopard and the 7.4 issues are out there (and it's not supported), but I have a couple of LE machines (MacPro and a Macbook running Leopard 10.5 with 7.4 LE) and nothing has gone up in flames as of yet. However, the use has been limited to transferring, opening, and playback for portable usage on-the-go when my HD system isn't available. Just thoughts, and as you mentioned, I wouldn't recommend doing this until it's supported because mileage can, and will, vary big time! Happy New Year !!! Len |
