Access violation occurred, unable to read location

4 Attachment(s)
I have read on this forum some similar issues but none of the solutions have worked. I have tried uninstalling reinstalling PT and the plugins. I have tried making PT run with admin permissions and changing the compatibility. I have also tried to roll back my windows to an earlier known working instance. All to continue to have the same errors...
While the session is open I can record and playback audio and use 3rd party plugins. ( An ENGL amp sim by Plugin Alliance and EzDrummer 2)

My issue's with my plugins.
" Access violation occurred, unable to read location 0x000000000000002C " Comes up when I try to open the EQ3 7band and D3 Comp/Limiter plug-in.
I have graphical errors using the Maxim plugin, there are some meters, faders and knobs but none of the info on what Im going to call, the face plate?Attachment 7371
This same kind of graphical error happens with the Sans Amp plug in. Knobs but no info. Attachment 7372
Same with Rectify and Chanel Strip.Attachment 7373Attachment 7374
These are the only ones I know of as of now. Its annoying.

Please help. Thank you.

Hmm, it kinda sounds like the plugin can't find the assets folder to display the interface correctly. Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing Pro Tools? Is everything installed on your OS hard drive?

Might want to give trashing pref a go as well.

So even reinstalling Pro Tools did not help?

Have you tried updating your video card drivers?

What kind of specs does your system have? Is this WIN or OSX?

I might have found the solution. I was uninstalling reinstalling ProTools and the Air Creative Collection but not the drivers and Avid Effects... So I cleaned everything Avid from my hard drive this morning and put it all back on and now it would seem that the errors are gone. Lesson learned? Time will tell.

Thanks so much for this! It worked for me too.
When launching ProTools Express 10.3.4 on Windows7, I had the following error occuring 'Access violation occurred, unable to read location: 0x0000000000000008' while loading the plug-ins, then freeze...
I tried everything but the solution was to uninstall all Avid drivers and reinstall them. (PT reinstall had no effect at all)
