Question about Ultimate/Native
Thinking about upgrading to Ultimate. The track count limit is getting frustrating on big mix sessions.
Question: Do I get more voices at 96k with Ultimate if I'm not running HDX? |
Re: Question about Ultimate/Native
I'm not sure how many voices/tracks you get in Standard, but in Ultimate non-HDX you get 384 @ 48K/44.1K, 192 @ 96/88.2K. Each HDX card gets 256 @ 48/44.1K, 128 @ 96/88.2K, until if/when the new firmware for HDX cards is released. Then HDX should get the same voice count as Ultimate non-HDX. You can also buy or rent Voice Packs for non-HDX Ultimate to get up to the equivalent of HDX3: 768 @ 48/44.1K, 384 @ 96/88.2K.

Re: Question about Ultimate/Native
Yeah, haven't heard anything from HDX voice upgrade lately so the situation really is you get more voices without HDX. Especially if you compare do HDX1 you get more voices with native system and voice packs.

Re: Question about Ultimate/Native
"... if/when the new firmware for HDX cards is released. Then HDX should get the same voice count as Ultimate non-HDX. " This is off the table. If you need more voices with HDX you get more cards.

Re: Question about Ultimate/Native
Update me as today. I think Ultimate with NON HDX actually get more voice. Avid love people get more HDX card.

Is that the official word? HDX voice count increases are off the table? On a side note, even before the update to voices for native it still outran HDX as it doesn't chew through voices for specific routing or plugin placement. |
