Remote Desktop
I'd like to be able to use my laptop to control my HD rig, and be able to walk around my studio. Is Apple Remote Desktop generally the way people are doing this? Any problems? Is there a better solution?
Thanks, Sig |
Re: Remote Desktop
It's built into the OS. It's called Screen Sharing but must be turned on in the Sys Prefs.
With a Finder window open, simply click on the Computer you want to control in the Sidebar, and select Share Screen. Works like a charm, do it all the time. |

Re: Remote Desktop
VERY COOL!!! I had no idea, works like a charm!
What is the iPhone app you're talking about? That would be great. Thanks, Sig |
Re: Remote Desktop
One particularly good screenshare app is called Jaadu/iTeleport. Great interface, and runs well. Also does a good job just as a remote touch pad.
There are also several apps like AC-9 and ProRemote that act as a wireless control surface for most DAWs. |

Re: Remote Desktop
iRemote for iPhone and iPod touch is free. I used it all the time.
