12.5 crashes, perma-pinwheel upon reopening session
hell of a day here- constant crashes from 12.5 with client attending a mix session.
reasonably sized session (~50 audio tracks, ~12 instrument tracks, a few FX returns, and half a dozen melodyne instances), but nothing i haven't done before. CPU + Memory usage are nowhere near peaking. crashes seem to be linked to autosave, as the last autosave is always exactly 5 minutes prior to the crash (my autosave interval is set to 5 minutes). so i'm assuming that PT crashes because i'm doing a certain something during the new autosave. this wouldn't be the end of the world, except when i re-open the session, it permanently pinwheels. i can re-open with plugins inactive, and then go through and activate them a few at a time (reactivating them all at once pinwheels again). HD Native 12.5, OS X 10.10.5, Silver Mac Pro Tower. any ideas? thanks in advance, |
Re: 12.5 crashes, perma-pinwheel upon reopening session
I got this advice from Melodyne and it helped my day go a lot smoother. Since You have Melodyne in the session, I'd try it.
Dear Steve, In this case please delete the "Melodyne singletrack" preferences under [macintosh hd]/[users]/[- your user account -]/[library]/[preferences] The two files in question are: com.celemony.Melodyne singletrack.plist com.celemony.melodyne.singletrack.plist To quickly find the files listed above please go to the finder and use the keyboard shortcut SHIFT + COMMAND + G and paste this line in the upcoming window: ~/library/Preferences/ SHIFT+COMMAND+G.png Once the files got deleted please shut down your Mac and restart it after a short break, then try this again. Should the problem persist, then I need to know also the Protools version you’re on. Best wishes, Jörg Hüttner See More from Steve Shepherd Good luck. Steve |

Steve, can you post as to whether throwing these preferences away worked? I want to see if this will work on my end, but I'm affraid of losing any Melodyning that we have already done. Thanks!
