Great songs badperson! Just wondering... what mic did you use on the guitar take.. Just friends. I guess you used a mic cuz I hear someone breathing, and I guess that's you! Would be kind a strange if you used a cable on your guitar, and recorded breathing afterwords. LOL

I always do my breathing post, it just sounds a lot more authentic that way...

glad you liked it... I used an ntk and a rode nt1a for that track.

thanks again!

Roy,

One-Eyed Gypsy Waltz, WOW!

Everything is right where it needs to be, IMO. Great stuff!

Re: Mac Mixes!!!!!!!!

Hey Gene good to hear from you again! Hah how are those recordings going?

The set-up: Drummer played in one room by himself with: d112 on the kick, SM57 on the snare (top and bottom miked), MXL603 on the hi-hat, MXL2001 on the low tom and a pair of AT3031s for overheads in ORTF

The bassist went straight in from his ampeg SVT-III PRO amp...then through some Waves Maxxbass

The piano player was in the piano room with a yamaha baby grand...used a pair of RODE NT1-as one on the highs one for the lows...pointing slightly outward...

The singer sang into an AKG414...

It was done live-off the floor

Oh I put everything through my focusrite octopre and lightpipe in the 002 and whatever was left over went through the behringer mixer (yes, the B word)

Any complaints on the recording? I'm still wondering how I can make it better...

Thanks for the comments

hi! i was feeling a bit frisky today and decided to upload my first song (go me!) these guys are a hard rock band, so i tried for a pretty in your face mix which was fun because the singer liked his vocals realy low in the mix. let me know what you think, it a pretty cool tune none the less.

Cozmo,

In D/L'd Orch, must say it's quite an obscure tune. Very nice bells at the beginning, the whole thing sounds a bit like backgroundmusic for a movie. Very apart, nice. Should listen to some more tunes but I have no access to a broadbandconnection at the mo'. When I'm back home, next wednesday I'm going to check more tunes from everybody.

Still no inspiration for a completely finished arrangement, should be there though. We'll see later on .

Roy,

I listened to One Eyed Gipsy Walz. Great piece of music. Very well composed and thoughtfully worked out. Good integration of midi and harddiskrecording. Great song.
Hats off.
