Soundcraft(Ghost) V.S. Mackie(32/8)

I use a mackie 8 bus/32 board with Pro Tools. I sometimes use the mackie pre's if the project has lots of inputs.

I have an oportunity to trade to a Soundcraft Ghost 32 channel. Has anybody used both? Which sounds better?
Thanks
JE

The difference in sound quality is astounding. The Ghost is a MUCH better board than the Mackie. Get the Ghost, you will be thrilled.

Don't even think about it, make the trade. the monetary value of the Ghost alone is worth it. If you don't like it, you can sell it, make a tidy profit and buy another 32.8 Mackie.

Hope this is helpful.

Hmmm, i would tend to Disagree the Ghost will Thrill the engineer. I found the Ghost to be a thin, cold sounding board. very mcuh like the Mackie 8 buss.

Just my opinion

I really like the sound of my ghost a lot more than the mackie I once used. I have tried a lot of very high end boards I thought sounded worse.

I have owned both before the pt rig. used them with xt20's and i like the goast better , hands down. the pre's on the goast are a hole lot better (same as on the dc2010) , the fader's are smother , mix B on the mackie suck's (noisey), the eq is a lot smother on the goast more options. If I select 1k on the goast and pullit out i'm pulling out 1k,on the mackie i might be pulling out 2,3,or 4 .and their are more options. Everything on the goast is so mutch better. Like comparing a cadie with a geo. They will both run 70 miles an hour.
