-jj-,

Enjoyed the tunes, liked the beat of both the tunes. Really nice guitar work on both especially in shroud. I would comment more on overall quality, but the set of cans I have at work now, are really bad. I will re-listen when I get home.

Take Care,
Gene

jj,
Just heard 'Kill Me' and I love it. Took a long time to download so I'll listen to the other later(gotta hit the bed). I especially like the vocal, but really everything about it is well done. For this genre, it kicks... Good job...did you engineer this? Thanks for the listen...~Roy

Thanks Gene, I appreciate your comment.

Roy, I think that link between US and Finnland mite been little slow at time to time but luckily it work. Thanks for the comment and now I´m blushing Yes, I have recorded and mixed that (and prodused too). Mastering have made in HD studio, because it is published LP and I don´t have yet enaught equipments to get high quality masters. I´m quite happy for the result, only thing is, that tomtoms sound was horrible and whole drumtune was hmm.. interesting. I spend hours to get sound a little better. But the band was happy and thats primal I think

Howdy,

Got a bit of Spring Fever this weekend, warmer weather. So in celebration of that, here is a tune I put together today. I hope you enjoy.

sadhouse, i have to say that overthrow, aside from the vocals, has that old school 6 feet under sound.. the haunted album.

i believe it was allen west on that cd.

cool stuff.

anyway i've got another up, completey redone. It was the first tune i ever did in pro tools, so needless to say, it always had issues, and needed some work.

so i just redid it to capture the moods/feelings, i have now in my life.

www.geocities.com/metaltim

follow the news link.

thanks ahead for any more suggestions..
im still in the process of making any canges i think could help the song, technically, or just the song itself.

ok, its been a while since i posted anything here, but its been a while since i finished anything... i just finished this little experiment up. the entire thing was done in cubase SuX and i can't say that it was entirely an unpleasant experience.

Well, was hoping for a little more feedback, but at least want to thank Roy for chiming in. I agree with you on the long guitar chords kinda getting old maybe, still up in the air on it though. There is a little electric guitar riff that I may bring up in volume to help.

Thanks,

J

How would you feel about someone else giving your mix a go? I don't have a project for a couple of weeks and I would like to do a mix for you on your song if you wouldn't mind. Just a thought....

Hey dodo that is a great idea!!! It can be like the 'DUC Groove'.

J,

I would like to give it a shot also. This could be a lot of fun. The tune is really good.

Wow, ummn...it would be such a headache to even try to get these tracks transfered. There is so much going on with it. Just those guitar swells take 3 tracks. Interesting offers though, what do you guys think you would do differently? This is a weird one because the majority of the electric stuff I actually assembled to get that sound. 8 more songs to go, although I think I am done with one more.

Happy Easter fellas (and ladies if there are any out there)!

This is only my second finished track with the 002 and my first posted, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
It's an instrumental.

Evolve

It picks up after a couple of minutes, so stick it out even if you're not into the ambient intro.

Best Regards,
-GS

Roy, as always, catchy, clean (although I heard a few dig clicks in there), and innovative (the guitar sound E.Q. and pan automation) but still staying true to that uniquely Roy style! I enjoyed the ride.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Nice Work! I didn't mean you didn't do a good job. I just came on some down time for a couple of weeks and it sounded like something I'd enjoy working on if you wanted a different approach. That's a complement. Don't sweat it! Keep up the good work. Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

(this is where I MEANT to post it....)

I have recorded an independent artist out of Georgia that I really enjoy...his name is Jonathan Barnes and the album is called "File Under Agrarian".

MP3s can be found at http://www.barnesmusic.com/12/media.htm

It's a mix of blues, bluegrass, folk, alt-country, and rock.

I hope you like it. The music was (except for the drums) recorded at 24/41 on the digi001 with waves gold, sampletank pianos, etc.

This project was a blast, and I hope it happens again soon, although it seems unlikely.

Though the snippets are too short to tell much about, what I hear sounds good. Sounds like you did a good job on the songs. Best of luck with it... -Roy

Hey Roy,

I really like Dear Life. The mandolin sound really adds almost a floating feeling, great combination with the guitar. Refreshing sound to the tune.

If you get a chance check out:

Experimenting with some ideas.

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

Hi Gene,
It's very different than the other things I've heard from you. Most of your other pieces are in a major key, and thus more 'pretty', I guess. This one sounds almost cathedral-like with it's minor scale and instrumentation. You do a very good job on that electric guitar, too. This adds diversity to your music. Good job, Gene. Roy, did you know that if you lived in Colorado your first name would be pronounced "Wah"?

Roy Howell 04-24-2003 11:58 AM

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

Wah Howell... Hmmm... is that an Indian pronunciation? Actually, for some reason, my family(parents, big brother and sis) called me 'Rha'(pronounced like 'Rah') all my life, so that almost sounds familiar. Do you know what it means perchance? It'de be great if it was something cool like 'plays guitar with silver finger'...

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

Actually, I'm referring to Patrick Roy from the Colorado Avalanche hockey team! They just lost in the playoffs. His last name is pronounced "Wah"!

Superclock 04-24-2003 02:14 PM

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

I looked it up and "Wah" means "picks nose with silver finger." Go figure. I won't call you that anymore.
