Yeah that's true but I bet they were just doing the video like that - ;)

Can't see why anyone would want to record with that mic when they have a rode as well

That and PT wasn't moving for the video

I made the same assumption, but I can see her jumping on stage some time and grabbing the mic like that('cuz it looks cool;)), and glaring at the sound person when it feeds back and sounds like crap:p

Here's a new tune written by a friend and myself and recorded with an Mbox 2 Pro. We then shot the video with a small Panasonic camcorder. We had just both turned 58 and wanted to have some fun and write a rocker. I drive a Beer Truck and my friend is a Produce manager so we don't do this full time so go easy on us : ) Cheers.

Where's the low end?
And why did you use a telephone for tracking vocals? :D

Isn't that why you have a bass control on your hi fi system? As far as the telephone thingy. I'll listen again.
Thanks Meads😊

I was meaning to listen - but I forgot - daughters birthday today - gonna later

If u hear low end but it's not there in another room or headphones - means your monitors are too close to the wAll - and or ur room needs more correction

Ask me how I know ;)

Thanks YYR123. Yeah, they are kinda close. About 10" away. It's a bedroom. I think you are right about the room acoustics though. Also I have always been timid towards turning up the bass. I'll work on it.
Congrats on your Daughters Birthday🎉

Hey guys,

I've made a recording and would like some advice.

https://soundcloud.com/projectmay/test

The vocals are going to be re-recorded because they're pretty rubbish in some places and untunable (he hasn't sung inabout 10 years, haha) but whenever I compare it to a professional mix (which maybe I shouldn't be doing) it seems to be missing some sort of low/mid punch which really brings these types of tracks out but I really don't know how to achieve it.

I know that these tracks will have been recorded in studios with £millions worth of equipment in and this was recorded in my dining room but any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Guitars were recorded through a pod and the drums are Superior Drummer, pro tools 9mp.

I also think I've boosted the mids a little too much in this mix.

Thanks in advance!
