Re: Mac Mixes!!!!!!!!

I used an AKG D112 mic on a 15" speaker (the bass head is a GK 1001) I always mic bass, and think it sounds so much better than DI... the preamp was a Vintech 1272 pre, and I went through a DBX 160 comp to Pro Tools (not too much comp)....

I didn't make the drum samples, and I'm not sure what they are, somebody gave me a bunch!

Thanks for the compliments, I appreciate the input!

Re: It\'s been a long time...

I decided to compile and self-release all my older tracks on CdBaby instead of letting them just sit on my drive. Some of I've posted here before, and some will be new to many. A new album will be out in a couple of months...

New album completed

Hey everyone,

I just finished an album for a client, Dan Walker and The Sky. Kind of a jack johnson meets jimmy buffett meets james taylor type of vibe.

I co-produced, engineered, and mixed this album.
I also played some horns, and a little tambouring;)

It was mastered by Chris Cavell.

You can download the full album from the duc only album release party

Feel free to check them all out.

Here are direct links to some of my favorites.

Bones
Already There

Palm Tree

Purple Sky

This is a full production of the one we did last year "Lucky", slated to be on the best of the duc album.

Lucky

Everything was tracked with the Vintech 1272 except for the drum overheads (digimax LT) and the toms (digi 002R preamps)

Feel free to download the whole thing, and pop it in your iPod!

This was really fun job. Chris Cavell did a fantastic job on the mastering. I would highly recommend him for any of you looking for a gifted mastering engineer.

Enjoy!

Off the top of my head...

This instrumental I wrote live as I was recording. All layers are done in the Triton. Only one track was recorded.

Stepping Out

Latest Demo

Hey everyone- We just finished a demo for our band of a few cover tunes(not full versions) just to get some gigs around town. All done in ProTools LE with 6.7 and Waves Platinium, mastered with T-Racks. Any comments would be appreciated, the good and the bad! Thanks...Matt

PS- The duo tunes were recorded with a Roland VS-1680 a few years back

Re: Latest Demo

Matt-

Music sounds real clean. You guys are talented. Very tight. Nice mixes and stuff also.

As a web developer for a living, perhaps I might suggest links to mp3 files instead of all the imbedded music...not really ideal for multiple browsers and such. Kind of a hassle. Not my favorite way of doing things...

Anyhow...

Re: Latest Demo

Justin- Thanks for listening and the comments...I really appreciate it. As for the web site layout, I wish I knew how to do what you are saying. Is it easy? This was my first website and I used Webeasy Pro 5..I really am a novice at it. Any advice on that end would be great! Thanks again for listening. Matt

Re: Latest Demo

Just post your .mp3 file on the server, and make a link to it...

for example My Mp3

Pretty easy!
