soundsurfr,
Thanks for listening. Bill and I are just starting to work together. This was our first collaboration. The song started as loops, the live version done later. Sometime I think the ideas are hard to move from medium to medium like that. I like them both, and I think both could be better. (Both the playing and the mix!) We're doing some new stuff now. Hang tight for that one of these days, and thanks for listening!

Cheers,
Mark

Mark Knecht - I listened to the two versions of the song you posted. I'm almost ALWAYS partial to a live drum track over looped or sequenced drums, but I gotta tell ya, I had a hard time deciding which track I liked better. Not to take anything away from the drummer, he did a great job, but the song kind of lends itself to a loop-generated atmosphere. Either way, cool!

Cinemafixer - crap it's NOT! The new song is your best yet, and I've loved everything you've posted so far. The song is beautifully written and performed, and that slick live sound you get from your setup is soooooo cool. Wish I could learn some of your methods.

Keep em coming...

Peter/Last and I are collaborating on this. I am to blame for the mix thus far. This will be sung by a female vocalist...

Here's another tune - another rough mix - check out my last post in the drum micing topic - some interesting things happened during tracking. Its a shuffle with a few gospel changes - sax section and solo provided by Kris Jensen of the Dickey Betts Band, Guitar work by Jeff Pevar from David Crosby's CPR band.

ps. sorry for the double post

Hey guy,
I'm on my PC so not able to comment on the mix, but I sure liked the song!

Take care,
Mark
