Clics and Pops after 40 minutes or less...
Hi, I'm having clics and pops after 40 minutes, they sound all the time (in play, stop, record, etc...) and the audio start jumping in and out, it´s only in the outputs. When I restart everything the clics and pops come again but in less time. Any suggestion?
I´m running Pro Tools 8.0.1cs1 in a Mac Pro, a 192, and Command 8. Help! |
Re: Clics and Pops after 40 minutes or less...
I had this, it was a badly fragmented drive. Try moving your files to another drive?

Re: Clics and Pops after 40 minutes or less...
Thanks! I'm on it...

Re: Clics and Pops after 40 minutes or less...
Also, if that´s the solution, how did you defragmented the drive?

Re: Clics and Pops after 40 minutes or less...
So, I tried with a session in another drive and the clics and pops are there too. :(
Another suggestion? |

Ooh, sorry to hear that. I didn't defrag, I wiped it and started again and it was fine.
Dodgy plug-in? Checked compatibility? http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...n=news_details |

What RTAS plugins are you using? pops and clicks are commonly caused by RTAS overloads and VI's are the main contenders!! What's your playback engine settings.. Hardware buffer size? how many processors assigned? Chris |
Re: Clics and Pops after 40 minutes or less...
Hi, I have no RTAS in the session and no VI's.
My playback settings: Buffer: 1024 Processors: 4 So, I have to get rid of all the suspicious plugins, right? |
Re: Clics and Pops after 40 minutes or less...
Removed plug ins and clics and pops are there again :S
More info about playback settings: CPU Usage Limit: 85% Ignore Errors disabled 48 Voices (1 DSP) None Delay Compensation DAE Playbak Buffer Level 2 Previously I removed HD Accel Card to test if it was the problem but it wasn´t. |

Is this one session or every session? if one session then try starting a new session and use import session data to pull all the tracks into the new session and check. Looks like it could be hardware. Ram maybe. so you've tried another hard drive? Any clocking in your system? any digital connections in/out of your PT system. Does it only happen when the session is playing? or any pops clicks when session is not running? Can you identify which tracks the pops and clicks are coming from? Chris |
