Session8 File Conversion

Thinking of upgrading Session8 PC to ProTools for NT is really exciting... But...
I think that Professional working with Session8 PC needs a tool to convert his old session files to the ProTools Session Format. I talked to several people at Digidesign and after this I don't think they are going to release some kind of conversion-tool. It can't be impossible. Digidesign should know that for professional working people it's a must to be able to use older session files. A conversion tool would be a strong aspect for the decision wether to upgrade to ProTools for NT or not.
Is anybody out there understanding what I'm talking about?

I understand you perfectly. But Digi said that it will not be done :-(

you can only import audio files to pro tools, not the session, so you need to rebuild the whole thing, bummer!

Digging up a 23 year old thread and offering advice, even. I think that's a record on DUC. Congratulations! It's like archeology!

Funny, yes let have some crazy hacker to build a converter for that purpose. I still have so many old song that I made using the session8, somewhere in one of my backup drive. There is build that I can't redo. A few years ago I start reworking on a song but it endup different.

It's never too late hey!
