PT is lagging

I'm working on a short video piece (1minute37seconds). I've imported the video (QT file, .mov, 7.4 MB) into PT and it opens just fine. However, PT doesn't seem to like it being there. All my operations lag - the most annoying is moving audio regions around - in other words, I make the move and it takes a second to respond and make the change. It's also unexpectedly quitting now and again.

I'm running a Mac PowerBookG4... with 9GB available disk space and 768 RAM) in OSX 10.4.10.

Help!

Not certain but I think you need more RAM for this and could benefit from more available disk space as well.

Sounds like the file is heavily compressed, maybe something like h.264? Codecs that require a lot of CPU to decompress make life difficult for Pro Tools. If you have Quicktime Pro, export the file to DV and you should notice a big difference in performance albeit the file will be much much bigger.
