Podcast level requirements
So I'm working on a podcast edit and was given these instructions for processing:
Set audio at -6db average level with peaks never exceeding -2. Stereo sound 24 bits 16LUFS (Loudness Units Full Scale) This is a standard for average volume* Place a smooth high pass filter on the audio at around 50Hz Place a smooth low pass filter on the audio around 18kHz Five Steps Sound Mix Set audio at -6db average level with peaks never exceeding -2 My confusion is is where they say to "set audio at -6dB average level" and then the "average volume" is to be 16LUFS. Measuring LUFS is simple, but I don't know what they want with a -6dB average level and/or how to achieve this. I'm hoping someone with experience can shed some light on this for me. Also, anyone heard of this "Five Steps Sound Mix"? Thanks! Chris |
Re: Podcast level requirements
Ignore everything except for the LUFS recommendation.
