Multi-Band Compressor for PT11
Hey guys...
I was using the RNDigital Dynam-izer for a long time... I loved the way the GUI was laid out and frankly, it was easy to get things to sound the way I needed/wanted them to for broadcast. It was a great plugin, as far as I'm concerned. Of course, I know it won't get updated to 64bit for PT11. So was just curious if anyone has any suggestions for a PT11 replacement? There are LOTS of compressors, and only a handful of multi-band compressors, but what are your experiences with what's available? |
Re: Multi-Band Compressor for PT11
Waves C4 and C6 are still very good MB compressors and have very straightforward GUIs. Hopefully it won't be too much longer until AAX-64 versions are released.
Blue Cat Audio has the MB-5 and it's already compatible with PT11, but I've never used it and it's pretty expensive. There is a demo, though. If only FabFilter would release a MB comp.... |
Re: Multi-Band Compressor for PT11
I use the Waves C6 as well.
McDSP has the AE400 out just now. Seems to be pretty nice, and is available for PT11. |
Re: Multi-Band Compressor for PT11
McDSP have a few must-haves for PT11.

Re: Multi-Band Compressor for PT11
Buy the AE400 without even thinking, it's awesome and it runs both native and DSP

Re: Multi-Band Compressor for PT11
Dont forget Blue Cat MB-5 and MB-7.

Re: Multi-Band Compressor for PT11
McDSP's ML4000 is a desert island plugin for me, a must-have. It's brilliant. I also give the Blue Cat MB5 a big thumbs up; I like that you can do upward compression (per band) with it.

Re: Multi-Band Compressor for PT11
Hey Guys
thanks for the replies... Cost is always a factor, especially with having to buy or upgrade all new plugs for PT11. I'm not a huge processor freak, but RND was my go to plug. I've also got a copy of Wave Arts compressor, and have begun playing with it, and it looks like it may work for me as well. Don't think I could ever invest in Waves..I've just read way too much about ongoing expenses with them to really consider them. I did look at the all the offerings from the PT11 plugin page... so I guess its time to check out some demos... Like the McDSP, and the Blue Cat MB-5. As always, thanks for the tips, suggestions, and advice. |
Re: Multi-Band Compressor for PT11
WaveArts has a great multiband compressor and it's already AAX64.
