sound effect plugin?
 
how can i make my sounds shift from left to right on my monitors ive heared a few songs where there an effec t usually on percussion or sound effects where you hear maybe say some conga or snare rools go from your right ear to your left ,i think its a really cool effect and want try it on my tracks i have a waves platinum bundle can this be achevied with one of its plugins??

Unless I'm missing something, I think what you're describing is panning.

Yes, you you can use one of the plugs from the platinum bundle, it's called "Mondo Mod". As soon as you open it up it should be the default effect that's applied to whatever track you have it on. You can also control how fast or slow the effect swings from left to right and how wide you want it to swing. It's a little easier than automating the pan on a track, though that also is another way to achieve what you're trying to do...

You're track will have to be in stereo in order to use that particular effect with that plug.

i know the basic pan hard left and right but not how to have something seem like like its flying by starting from left but ill check it out with the mondo plugin

Panning automation is your friend.

Agreed. Mondo Mod is a really expensive way to do something you can do for free with just pan automation. IMHO, you can control it much better with automation as well.

You could also try the Waves "Doppler" plug -that gives a truer sense of moving across the sound "stage" , as it adds the frequency change that you get as an object approaches and departs; however it may be a bit too subtle for what you want.

in addition to the pan automation, try writing some volume automation to so that it gets louder in the center. that will add to the effect.

doppler isn't bad either
