OT: What\'s in Washington DC?

Looking for advice from anyone who knows what there is to do in the capitol city after 10:00 on a Saturday night. I'm going to be playing a wedding reception there this weekend at the Hay Adams hotel in the immediate vicinity (so I'm told) of the White House. It's being held on the roof so I have to stop at 10. PA's rented so breakdown will be pretty quick and I'm an all-nighter so I'm hoping there will be someplace to check out some good live music. Some primo jazz would be the bomb but I'm sure I'll go for anything that keeps me from sitting in my room all night. (It's a solo gig - one man band type of deal - so I've got no one to even hang with.)
Also security tips would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any pointers any of you can offer me.
Peas and lugnuts.

Check out City Paper. That should be a good starting point.

Groove!
Depends on "WHAT" you want to do. D.C. comes alive at that time. Adams Morgan is the big college hangout and is a short taxi cab ride down the road. Great bars, and great sites to watch if you catch my drift. There is a big scene in Georgetown too. Little more pricey, but you are in D.C. Everything is expensive. There is the "Sequiya" (sp?) in Georgetown that is pretty sweet. Right on the water. Adams Morgan has tons of bars, and too many to name?

DuPont Circle has a few spots, but is a different area. Different lifestyle, but fun. Bungalow Billiards is a cool pool hall.

D.C. has all the strip clubs too. CAMELOT! Very nice and pretty high class.

If you want to ventre out of D.C. go to Clarendon! WAY COOL and my stompin' grounds. You can Metro to it very easily.

1. Clarendon Grille
2. Whitlow's (killer) (live -music)
3. Clarendon Ballroom (live - music)
4. Mr. Days (tons of people)

That is what I suggest..... good luck!

SECURITY TIP 1: STAY AWAY FROM SOUTH EAST D.C.

SECURITY TIP 2: DO NOT USE YOUR CELL PHONE WHILE DRIVING IN D.C.! AGAINST THE LAW AND BIG FINE

True, DuPont is a crazy area.... Some cool bars, but I prefer Clarendon.... I really try to stay out of D.C. if all possible to be honset. Just a pain in the ass to park..... and the Metro is only good to sober you up! Take the metro to Clarendon and get to the bars that way. Whitlow's is right by it.
