Shouldn't we have heard about v12.8 by now? In the last 6 months we've received a 2gig loop library that no one wanted and that's about it. I'm not counting bug fixes! Not acceptable Avid.

Typically there is a release near the end of each quarter. So it follows that there should be a release before 3/31, and it will probably be designated PT12.8.

Yeah, thats what I figured. However usually it gets announced a couple weeks before actual release. So looks like the next release will be late in comparison to recent examples. There are a lot of people with renewals ending 3/31 also!

As predicted, the subscription model has not changed the way Avid releases software in any significant way :-)

Releasing 'major' updates around trade-shows is so 2002.

The switch to quarterly releases coincides with the subscription model, so the schedule did change. You could make a strong case that the new model has not improved quality, in fact it's possible forcing a schedule of quarterly dates has hurt.
