Finne,
Nice instrumentation on 'Suomi kokonaiseksi', and very nice job on the mix. 'Ura' reminds me of old B52's stuff, but in Finnish...very cool. Good engineering job, as usual.

If anyone sees Q tell him I've got something for Pulp Fiction 2...

Attack Of The Pink Flamingos

but seriously, how does it sound on YOUR monitors? Mine are not the best, but I've been playing it back on everything I can get my hands on and I think its in the ballpark.

thanks

mkosacek,
SWEET!!!!!! The drums can come up a tad.. little washed out behind the guitars, but that is a cool concept and I understand that texas fly sound that you are going for. I could actually hear it a tad faster too, but that is just me. I would drop a smidge of verb, compress the drums a tad more, bring them up in the mix, and then add a solo flare in there somewhere... kinda like a Whaaaaaaaaaaaa riff or a trmelo guitar thing that sounds texas pulp fiction like... very high pitch notes and just floating down kinda thing.

Otherwise cool tune.. TOms can come up too. They sound too distant....

Good job, guitars sound great... loud and bright, now get the drums up like that.

funny you say that. I am actually a drummer who fakes it on guitar, so I was probably overcompensating for the fact that I like the drums... I was also experimenting with mic'ing and used kick, snare, 2 overheads and a room mic. thanks for the review!

Roy
I am using a Alesis QS6.1 keyboard. The guitars i used where Martin 000-15 (solid Mahogany) and Alvarez(nylon). Recorded with Rode NT1 straight into 002R.

I have a Universal Audio LA610 coming this next week and today just receive my BlySky 2.1 monitors and tomorrow i will be purchasing Baby Blue mic and i am thinking AT4040/4050/3060. I am not sure really what route i am going yet with the AT series. I should be up and running by next weekend.

Oh-yea last week i brought back the Fender strat i purchase the week before and upgraded to the 50th Anniversary American Deluxe Stratocaster.Sweetest strat i've ever played!

As you can see Roy i am pretty excited to get back to recording! My next project is room treatment.

mkosacek - Really great song. I love it! I agree...not enough drums!!!! Drums and guitar sound like they are in different acoustic spaces.. Bass sounds fat and nice.

Punk - cool songs. Reality show Reminds me of the "Lost Boys" soundtrack...which I loved imdb link . Has a very 80s vibe to me. Out of the closet has a depeche mode vibe...nice!

I just got PT LE and an Mbox a couple weeks ago. Here are a couple original acoustic guitar tunes that I have been working on. It's been a struggle to figure out everything, but I will get it one day. So much to learn. I am able to record the tracks fairly easily. I have a condenser mic, acoustic guitar and my home office. Problem is getting the mix to sound how I want. Especially the volume. I really have a new appreciation for all of you who know what you are doing. Some nights I find myself starring into the Reason Adapted stuff.....

Richard,

Perhaps you can work on the engineering and mixing, but honestly you are a very talented musician, and that is the foundation of good music. Good work! I wouldn't worry about the loudness, that is really where mastering comes in.
