This, from one of the most insular corporations I have ever seen. They are trying to change their perception in the marketplace, obviously. But maybe they can begin to make perception reality.

Re: The ACA will now have a vote in the direction of Pro Tools
No one, including David Mash himself when I emailed him personally, has ever been able to actually tell me what the Avid Customer Association's purpose is, or what they actually do...other than have a big get together immediately before NAB.
At least this is something concrete. |

Re: The ACA will now have a vote in the direction of Pro Tools
I think we all pretty much agree - we love the product, but hate the company and how it has been handled by upper management for a while. Ambiguous gimmicks like the 'artist suite', 'media suite' and 'storage suite' etc... R and D on things that most of us already do with other software and techniques (on line collaboration) and then offer up the new technologies in such a crippled manner that we laugh at it (collaboration project size).
Here is to hoping they get their **** together or get acquired by a company that can handle brining their products back to the top of the production food chain. I am curious to see how they deal with Black Magic now that they bought Fairlight. |

too little too late.
love the people in the trenches doing the work. cannot stand management + marketing. time for them to go, and for someone else to take over curating PT development. |
Re: The ACA will now have a vote in the direction of Pro Tools
I just got the official email. Two rounds of voting, results announced in March? What a joke. Just fix the damn software already. I'll be voting with my wallet if I have to wait til March to see if Avid is going to address three years old bugs.

Re: The ACA will now have a vote in the direction of Pro Tools
Anybody know what they/we are voting on?
I tried to look, but I guess you have to actually start the voting process to find out. I didn't have time to complete the voting and didn't want to waste my vote. |
Re: The ACA will now have a vote in the direction of Pro Tools
If there's a need for a vote why can't we just vote right here?
