Need to know more about the what you do before btd, what are you monitoring through etc. First off, are you creating a master fader in the mix window before you btd?

yeah i created a master fader. what are the correct settings to use when bouncing to disk? i mean as in the settings that come up on the menu for bouncing to disk? and moniters..right now we havent gotten all our good stuff yet so ive just got a pair of Rokit 5s. but what happens is when i bounce to disk and it saves to computer. ill go back and find the file on the computer to play it. and theres basically barely any volume and it sounds horrible. im guessing im missing some step? sorry by the way im new at this..but yeah if anyone has any ideas let me know please. thanks

Master Fader like -6db max. (save room for mastering)
Bounce to Disk
Stereo Interleaved
Save as BWF WAV and bounce away!

You can import the stereo bounce right back into a new session within PT for mastering. I'd recommend reading any articles / books you can find about mastering, as this is a complex issue with MANY different tecniques / opinions on what is 'best'.

how would i import it? as a stereo file? like your saying? and is there much you can do for mastering with just the plugins that pt le 7.0 came with? thanks again everyone.

Sure... Import back into PT as a stereo file. Again, this is ONE method. There are indeed many mastering programs out there which would do just fine...

You may look into a brickwall limiter (like the Massey L2007 - which is free). This will help get closer to commercial volume (typically, set the output to -0.1 or -0.2 db), for starters. Some people also like to manually eliminate any peaks, and add compression. Again, there are literally THOUSANDS of opinions on mastering...

Also note, if you do import back to PT, you may want to keep the bounced stereo file in 24-bit to avoid dithering before mastering. Import back into PT as a 24-bit file, then dither at the mastering stage...
