Can I run a Digi 001 on my Beige G3...???

So, I got a used Digi 001 to run on my trusty, old Beige G3, to use as my little home studio setup. Things were working well for a little while, although I hadn't used the setup much. Then just last weekend as I was dumping some old DATs into PT via SPD/IF, I started getting this -6045 error, or something like that. Of course I immediately checked the Answerbase, and discovered all this stuff about how the Digi 001 has sporadic, unpredictable errors when on the Beige G3. Well, I certainly started getting them. And they wouldn't go away. The system is basically unusable right now. I rebooted, and rebooted. Changed things here and there. But I get the error within minutes of recording. The Digi Answerbase post says it happens very sporadically, but I'm not finding that to be true.

Does anyone have any tips or workarounds for getting the Digi 001 running on a Beige G3 with OS 9.2...???

Thanks much - Steve

THat does seem to be the case with the beige. I don't know of any workarounds since I haven't used the 001 but I have used an Mbox with a beige G3 and it worked quite well.
BTW, digi never could figure out what that probolem was.

I ran a 001 with an unsupported beige G3 desktop for almost 5 years. It was a pretty solid little system, but I found I got those -6045 errors when I was clocking to any external source and using either digital i/o. This is eventually what made me upgrade to a Dual GHz G4, 002r, and PT 6.x.
